English onomatopoeia @ Nihon Gakuen HS

This is the English Onomatopoeia team from my seminar class. They completed their game prototype “Let’s Onomatopoeia!!,” and conducted their experiment at Nihon Gakuen High School.

The game plays like Taboo or Monikers, where teams must try and explain the word on their card without saying it. This is repeated three times (this is the Monikers part):

  1. Use a full sentence
  2. Use just one word
  3. Use a gesture only

The team felt immense joy seeing the students enjoying their touch of English.
If you want to play Let’s Onomatopoeia please contact us via mail or DM on Instagram.

A retail version will be coming to a crowdfunding site soon!

Kanji and vocabulary @ Minami-Nagareyama Elementary School

This post is from the Kanji team from my seminar class. They have completed the first of two lessons with 4th graders at the Minami-Nagareyama 2nd Elementary School. Their research focuses on the use of a domino-like game for making Kanji as well as compound kanji words. The game is played in groups of 4-5 and is a semi-collaborative game.

For more information on this game, see the (super colorful) document that the team made to explain how the game works (Japanese only):
